Dans la chapelle je m'étais mis à rêver
A film by Philippe Morier-Genoud
Synopsis
The film follows a stonemason at work, using materials salvaged from demolition sites. Threshold stones, old zinc from roofs, wood and scattered objects: engraved, abandoned, pieced together, they bear the mark of time. Beside these heavy forms comes, now and then, the dancing lightness of ink drawings, like sketches for stained glass. But the artist’s hand and eye, drawing even on the simplicity of the Romanesque frescoes in a nearby chapel, feel their way towards an answer to the question of our presence in the world.
